The end

This was almost the last picture in the album, though certainly not the last chronologically. It looks like she is way out in a field, but the shadows show there is a building, likely the house, right there.

Jean MacDonald, 1938, Nova Scotia.
I suspect she is in the family picture with Aunt Tess of Antigonish, so a cousin of Betty's.

Swimsuit or underwear?

Betty and Evelyn Strang, 1936

Betty and a friend hanging around.

We saw Evelyn in her wedding dress a while back. This picture is from 1936 when she was a teenager.

And who is the younger sibling peeking through the window?

More Joe

Joe and his bike are back.

"This was taken the Sunday after Good Friday at the front of our place. As you notice the bike is actually clean! Just newly painted. Joe"

And my mom added his surname and the date.

Mabel gets married

Was Mabel the first of the friends to get married? Did she get married in England?

Was it usual to get postcards made of your wedding picture?

"The 'Blushing Bride' walking up Church Path."
Mabel Walker Sayer.

Joe again

We saw Joe on his bike a while ago. Here he is in the winter time. It's another picture that was handled a lot.

Betty's writing on the back; no long note from him this time.

Mabel goes to England

So, Mabel went to England around 1939. She was something like 19. She sent her friend this picture, which was clearly pinned on the wall as well as carried around.

Mabel Walker. Sent from England,1939.

I'd love to know more about this.

Family maid

My grandmother had seven children, and apparently also a maid. In this picture she is dressed for some special occasion.
